RECYCLE THAT TREE!
Do you love the idea of a real Christmas tree but hate the problem of disposing of it? If you live in Holland or Park Townships, your problem is solved.
From December 26 through January 31 you may bring your Christmas tree to the Holland Township Quincy Street Park (14025 Quincy Street) to be recycled. Trees may be brought to the park from dawn to dusk. Follow the signs to the drop-off area.
PLEASE LIMIT THIS TO CHRISTMAS TREES ONLY!

Effective March 28, 1995, Michigan’s Solid Waste Management Act (Act 641 of 1978, as amended) prohibited the open burning of leaves and grass clippings.
Guidelines for Recycling Services
Materials accepted are grass clippings, brush, branches, leaves and limbs (up to 12" diameter). (Note: These items are only accepted during Leaves/Yard Waste Recycling dates at Chips Groundcover and NOT at Clean Up Days at Black River Recycling)
Brush must be separated from grass clippings and leaves.
No plastic, contaminates, treated lumber or stumps accepted.
Customer is responsible for unloading and separating recycling materials.
No commercial vehicles for these recycling services.
The leaves/yard waste recycling services are open to Holland Charter Township residents without a drop off fee during the dates specified.
Proof of residency may be requested.

2019 Clean Up Days Schedule
Location: Black River Recycling
11531 Lakewood Boulevard between 120th and 112th Avenues
Materials that will NOT be accepted: Paints, drain oils, solvents and other petroleum products; fuel tanks; sealed containers. Household garbage; loose roofing materials (must be boxed or bagged). TV's; monitors; boats larger than 12 feet long. Lawn, yard waste, and branches. (Note: To dispose of leaves/yard waste at Chips Groundcover, please see the Leaves/Yard Waste Recycling Schedule).
Accepted materials include: Appliances; batteries; automobile tires (limit of 4 per household). Electronic equipment and scrap items, including computers, printers, cell phones, ink and toner cartridges, audio equipment, electronic power tools. Household recyclables: paper, plastics, tin cans, etc.

The Township reserves the right to refuse any items that are deemed too large or too difficult to handle.
