This 40-acre park is located south of Adams Street at 9876 Black River Court. It offers walking trails around the 5-acre Hawthorn Pond with a kayak launch ramp, fishing deck, boardwalk and lookout stations at various locations around the pond as well as on the Macatawa River.  Recent improvements include a permanent restroom, additional parking, improved security and pathways connecting the new improvements to the existing facilities.

In addition to the Hawthorn Park improvements, there is a 2.7-mile pathway connecting Hawthorn Park to the existing paved path along Adams east of 88th Avenue.  From there, one can ride on a paved path to Ottawa County's Upper Macatawa Park.  Hawthorn Park was developed in 2011 and is jointly owned by Holland Charter Township and Ottawa County.

All Holland Charter Township parks are open from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Picnic shelters and gazebos at Hawthorn Park are available for public use on a first come, first serve basis. They may not be held, reserved or rented unless it is a Holland Charter Township sponsored event. (Example: Annual Holland Charter Township Easter Egg Hunt at Dunton Park).
