MDOT is investing approximately $17 million to rebuild 4.5 miles of eastbound and westbound I-196 Business Loop (BL) from US-31 in Holland to 88th Avenue in Zeeland. Work includes asphalt resurfacing, full-depth concrete joint repairs, new signs, traffic signal work, crosswalk safety improvements, and new guardrail. UPDATES:
- Eastbound I-196 BL will be closed at US-31 and detoured from April 13 to August 1, and then westbound I-196 BL will close from August to November. Traffic will be detoured to 16th Street/Adams Street.
- 106th Avenue/Paw Paw Drive is closed at I-196 Business Loop through early August
- Waverly Road/120th Avenue is scheduled to close at eastbound I-196 Business Loop between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. this Monday.
- Eastbound I-196 Business Loop remains closed from US-31 to 88th Avenue through August 1. Lane closures are in effect on EB I-196 Business Loop from 101st Avenue to 88th Avenue.
