With identity theft and mortgage fraud crimes rising, Ottawa County is offering a free service to residents that will allow the county records department to track possible fraudulent activity and will notify you if a document is recorded with your name so that you can take appropriate actions quickly. It is important to know that this will not stop the fraud from happening but it will alert you in a timely manner. To sign up for this service go to the Ottawa County Clerk’s Property Fraud Alert website and click on “Continue” to register. You can register your personal and/or business name.
