Parks and Facilities Maintenance Director

Holland Charter Township has an opening for a full-time Parks and Facilities Maintenance Director. The Township will be posting this position internally and externally.
Hiring is subject to: Successful completion of a pre-employment medical examination, including drug and alcohol screening; review of motor vehicle driving records to verify holding a valid Michigan’s driver’s license and demonstration of a responsible driving record; criminal history record review; and verification of the accuracy of applicant-provided information.
Basic Function: The Parks and Facilities Maintenance Director is responsible for leading the parks department and is responsible for managing 380 acres of parks, a 70-mile pathway system, cemeteries and various township buildings and grounds.
Summary of Primary Responsibilities:
- Recruits, supervises and assigns work priorities for full-time, part-time and seasonal staff
- Determines the maintenance needs of parks and facilities
- Develops annual operating and capital outlay budgets
- Procures needed equipment/supplies and coordinates various contracted services
- Performs needed maintenance work
- Addresses customer service requests and complaints
- Provides assistance in the planning of parks development/improvements
- Performs related work as required
